Review by hotel critic
Review of Bangala Chettinad: A Balance of Comfort and ValueDuring my recent three-night stay at Bangala Chettinad, I found the hotel to be a family-run establishment that genuinely aims to blend comfort with fine hospitality. Nestled away from the bustling streets, the serene setting is surrounded by vibrant foliage and features a well-maintained outdoor swimming pool-ideal for a refreshing break. My ground-floor room, which overlooked the pool, was simple yet adequate, and included thoughtful amenities such as a tea and coffee facility. The dining experience stood out; I participated in a delightful lunchtime cooking demonstration, followed by a substantial meal that showcased the local cuisine. While the prices for breakfast and the four-course dinner were reasonable, it's worth noting that not all staff interactions were seamless. The staff's attentiveness occasionally felt excessive, and an awkward dining experience on one evening left me questioning the consistency of customer care. Bangala Chettinad offers considerable value for travellers seeking a peaceful retreat coupled with cultural immersion.
